Why I started blogging

I love this blog. I never realized or imagined that blogging would become such a big part of my life. I never thought that I would be so passionate about it. I definitely never imagined how much support I would get from so many people around the world who actually value the things that I have to say. It’s still shocking to me. Two days ago I told my boyfriend how quickly the relaunched blog was being supported and he said “well, duh your blog is amazing” and I just froze. I love the love, but I originally started this blog for me and only me so all of the outside support really does surprise me still sometimes.

When I first began blogging it was because I wanted a platform to express myself and my thoughts on. I am always needing to release my thoughts and I have journals and things that I use, but I was in need of a different outlet. I created my first WordPress owned blog in 2014. I was originally going to just post poetry and talk about the the things going on in my life. I never shared the posts on my social media or let anyone other than my best friend know that the blog existed. It was just for me. At this time, I had no idea that blog was a source for income for a lot of others. I didn’t read other people’s blog. I just stayed in my lane and posted things. Eventually people I didn’t know were findin my blog and interacting with the posts. It was mostly that change that freaked me out and made me stop blogging for a long time.

I got distracted by life, of course, but I really got nervous. I realized people liked what I wrote and it scared me. I have never been very public about my writing. I have always kind of kept it to myself. My parents rarely saw things that I wrote and nobody else ever did so knowing so many eyes were on my blog was extremely intimidating. Then in 2018 I decided to make another blog. This was also a WordPress blog and this was around the time that I learned that you could be a blogger full-time. When I first found out I thought it was B.S. and so I didn’t pay it much attention. This time I decided I wanted to meet with other bloggers and try to get around likeminded people so that I could gain more confidence and become more comfortable sharing my work.

This is when blogging became a big part of my life’s I spent more time on writing posts. I spent more time actually sharing my blog to social media. I started trying to find bloggers who I related to. I joined some really awesome Facebook groups for bloggers. I met so many awesome people.

As I said earlier when I first started blogging it was an outlet and I just intended to share my journey and poetry with the world. If you were subscribed to the previous blog then you know I posted not one single poem on there. Why not? Well, the reason for that is mainly that things changed. The more I wrote, the more I realized that I liked encouraging others. The more that I found that sharing my own experience with self-development and positivity helped others, the more I wanted to do it. I feel as if my blog helped me find what I was really passionate about. Everything I’ve done since my blog became the type of blog that it is, surrounds my desire to uplift and help others accomplish their goals. I realized what a great platform blogging was for other women and entrepreneurs who are trying to accomplish goals and reach dreams. It’s a great platform for people who struggle with self worth and confidence. Next thing I know, my blog is a self-Development and lifestyle blog. I found my niche on accident. I wasn’t actively looking for it. I wasn’t studyingbhow to find the best blog to make money from.

Then, I started getting emails from brands and from people who wanted me to join their affiliate programs and that’s when I decided that this was what I wanted to do. I realized that my blog is like my favorite thing and I absolutely adore creating content for you guys. I love coming up with topics and writing and sharing my experience with others. It’s therapy for me but also something I feel can help someone else. To do this for a living? ThGs what I be talking about! So, I decided to get serious Anton my blog. I got a schedule for it and started sharing it regularly. I told my friends and family that this was something I was pursuing. I was so picky about the type of brands and affiliates I would sign up with. In fact, I’ve signed up with affiliates, but not one single brand because I have yet to find one that I like enough to work with because I want to believe in anything I share with you guys.

So if I’m being honest, I started my blog to let off steam and have an outlet to share with others. I have continued blogging because of… well you guys. The people who have supported me and been affected by me sharing my journey are the reason that I am doing this. Blogging gave me the courage to start my YouTube channel. I owe a lot to this blog and to the people who have supported me on it. I appreciate all of you. So much more than you could possibly imagine.

Hopefully this family continues to grow and I continue to produce content you guys like. Thanks again CherishingFlo Fam 💕
