I have been blogging for awhile and I have given a lot of bloggers (ones who ask) advice. I was asked recently if I had a blog post on the tips that I had and when I said no, they followed up with the question why I don’t have blog posts on it. I know that blog posts about blogging are very popular. My blog does fairly well and I am sure if I really wanted to I could make quite a few blog posts about how to create a successful blog, how to get blog traffic, and how to make money blogging… but I choose not to.
Bloggers who blog about blogging (that is a moutful, say that five times fast) tend to have a lot of monetary opportunities. I have an affiliate link for my blog host site that I LOVE and other affiliate deals I could have accepted and didn’t. However, that was not the path I take. Why?
Why I Don’t Blog About Blogging
I want to blog about things that I am passionate about. The truth is that I am passionate about my blog. I love doing this. If I could choose ONE job out of everything that I do, the blog would definitely be the top of the list. I am passionate about uplifting and helping others. I am passionate about helping my girl bosses become their best selves. However, I am not at all passionate about the inner workings of blogging and explaining it. I write about the things that are on my heart that I want to share. Making a blog post about blogging never even crosses my mind and it doesn’t excite me at all to write about it. That’s not what my blog is about.
I am still learning about blogging myself. I am not comfortable writing about blogging as if I am some kind of expert. I am still learning a LOT. It wasn’t until recently that I started including Pinterest in the ways I generate pageviews but I am not some full time work from home blogger… YET. So I don’t want to write about things I don’t really have expertise on.
I like what I write about. I like my blog the way it is. I write about whatever I want pretty much and I have helped uplift and encourage a lot of people INCLUDING other bloggers. I know that a lot of bloggers write about blogging wanting to share their experience and how they started their blog to quit their job and want to teach others how to do the same… that’s not my story. I wanted to live a happier life and change my mindset. I wanted to form better habits for myself. And it is THAT journey that I choose to share with you guys.
I know that you loyal subscribers and readers of my blog support me and enjoy the things that I blog about and I truly appreciate it. I have heard some things about blogging about blogging lately, but mostly what I get is love and encouragement from all of you. I truly appreciate all of you.
I hope that if you find this blog post it will encourage you to write about whatever it is that YOU want despite what’s popular and despite what others tell you that you should write. I encourage you to do what YOU’RE passionate about.
This post was a little different than most but it had a message that matches my main theme. Which is go out, be passionate, do what you love, and never stop growing into the boss you’re meant to be!
