How to Start Living A Healthier Lifestyle

Updated: Oct 28, 2019

Are you looking to start living a healthy lifestyle, but don’t even know where to begin? Trust me, you’re not alone. I have been trying to figure out how to get my life together bit by bit. Right now, my health is not in good standing. I am underweight, I rarely if ever work out, and my eating habits are absolute trash. Luckily, I have been doing some research and making some changes and slowly I am getting on the right track.

Now, remember… I said start. There is no way to suddenly go from living any old kind of way to living healthy, but I am going to share with you all of the tools and mindset practices I have added in order to get this journey STARTED. If you guys are interested in an update on my health journey, let me know in the comments and I may keep record of how I am doing!

How To Start Living A Healthy Lifestyle

  1. Start buying fresh foods. This is my first step that I’ve taken towards my success in living a healthier lifestyle. I buy a lot of junk foods and easy to make foods. One thing I had to do was stop wasting time and money eating out and utilize my funds to buying foods that will help me cook and eat right. I buy fresh veggies and fruits for the purpose of health and it’ll keep me eating inside cause fresh food goes bad and I don’t want to waste my money!

  1. Buy a yoga mat. If you’re not into yoga, that’s cool. I hate strenuous work outs and so if you do too, yoga can be an incredibly good resource to workout, burn calories, increase flexibility, and so much more! If you don’t want to do yoga, you can still use a yoga mat in order to do some morning stretches before you go on your work out. Regularly stretching your body is important for your health in many ways (to be discussed at a later blog).

  1. Get a good QUALITY weighing scale. You are going to need to keep track of your weight gain, loss, and other health related things. I am luck enough to have received the *Bluetooth Smart Body Fat Scale and it is a great resource for my goals. It helps me to keep track of my body weight but also helps keep track of other awesome stuff like body fat, bone mass, and even body water (because water weight is a serious thing you guys). It’s bluetooth so you connect it via the app or through bluetooth and it is AWESOME. I will be utilizing this tool the most to share how my HEALTHY weight gain journey is going! (If you are interested in this scale and want 15% click this link and use my referral code: 15Cherish to get your scale and start on your journey!).

  1. Get an accountability partner. My current accountability partner is my significant other. He pushes me to make sure that I am doing what I say I’ll do and even when I am not in the mood or don’t feel like hearing his BS. I always appreciate it.

  1. Work on your mindset. A lot of the problem most of us have when it comes to reaching our health goals is the mindset that goes behind it. For one, whether you’re trying to lose or gain weight, your mindset should be focused on getting healthy and FEELING good. That’s more important than whatever number is on the scale. You have to be determined and make the DECISION that you’re going to do this every day and re-make that same decision daily until it becomes a habit. It will take practice and there will be failure, but this will definitely make a difference in your life.

This is just the beginning of our journey. As time passes I will give more little tips and tricks and hopefully we will all be in the sizes we wanna be in before we know it! What are some of your health goals and how are you going about achieving them?
