How To Network As An Introvert

If you're like me then you probably are not crazy about spending an ample amount of time around crowds and others.

I, personally, cannot stand networking events because I find them extremely draining, but networking is extremely important for growing a business. You have to make connections and when they say your network is your net worth... they are not kidding.

So, how does one do this as an introvert? Let's get into it...

How To Network As An Introvert

Start small

Start by simply making connections with people online. You could set up some one-on-one coffee dates with some people. Don't throw yourself into a crowd of people right away. Take your time.

Don't feel pressured to talk a lot

It actually helps to do more active listening than talking. So start by hearing what other business owners have to say and allow them to take the floor. You can comment here and there, but you don't have to take the lead role in talking.

Always give yourself recharge time

Once you have done some socializing, take a break and spend some time alone. Let yourself recharge and refill your social meter before trying to socialize again. You don't want to burn out.

Prepare beforehand

Have some conversation starters and some icebreakers ready for when you don't know what to say.

Become comfortable with being uncomfortable

It is not going to be easy or comfortable even with preparation. So just learn to get out of your comfort zone.

Affirmations

Speak to yourself that you are a great conversationalist and make connections easily. Continue to say this over yourself so that you can go in with more confidence and be more prepared to make those connections.
