How To Begin to Change Your Attitude

Our thoughts control our actions and manifest things into our lives.
Sometimes having a terrible mindset or attitude can be exactly the thing that is holding you back from having true success and so today we are going to deep dive into how we can begin to change our attitude for the better and move forward.
HOW TO BEGIN TO CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE
Recognize it needs changing
One of the biggest and hardest steps towards change is recognizing that change needs to take place. You need to realize that it is you that is in your own way and it is your responsibility to do something about it.
Deal with your traumas
Okay, I take that back. This is probably the hardest of the steps because it requires working on healing and there is nothing simple or easy about that process. As I said before, at some point you can't blame those who hurt you because regardless of what they did, nobody is responsible for your healing or your growth (or lack thereof) but you. So start dealing with your traumas. A great way to do that is to start going to therapy. I'm an advocate for black people going to therapy because too often we try to avoid it and it can really help us get through some of the traumas and disrespect people give to us that we don't deserve and can cause built up negative emotions.
Learn from mistakes
Instead of deflecting or getting down on yourself when you screw up, take responsibility and reflect on what you can learn from the situation. Why did this mistake happen? What could you have done to avoid it? What will you do differently in the future? Asking yourself this question when things go wrong can be a powerful tool in mental health and a mindset shift.
Stop expecting too much from others
Oftentimes I've seen people, myself included, hurt their own feelings by expecting them from other people. People suck. And once someone shows you they don't have your best interest at heart, instead of getting angry at them, accept that's who they are and move accordingly with them in your life. Expecting everyone to do right is only going to leave your disappointed in the end. Demand respect, but expect foolishness so when people give it, you don't spend too much time upset.
Do things that make you feel joyful
This is my favorite one. Doing things that make you smile or feel happy is a key way to start changing your attitude. You don't have to start making money from what you love. You just have to start doing it and making it a priority to get done in your life.
