Blogtober Day 3: National Boyfriend’s Day!

I didn’t learn until a little while ago that everyday is National SOMETHING day. When I first heard it, I found it ridiculous. I’m pretty sure there’s a national taco day this month. I love tacos, but a national Taco day? Why? Nevertheless, when I heard that today was National Boyfriend Day, there was no way I could let it pass without making an entire post of my appreciation towards my amazing boyfriend.

We have been together for two and a half years. Our relationship has been full of a ridiculous amount of ups and downs. We’ve had arguments and screaming matches, but this man has always been there for me. It didn’t matter if we were on good terms or bad, he never wanted to see me hurt. When we first met we were unsure if we were compatible. Our backgrounds are different and we are almost polar opposites, but the beautiful thing that we discovered is that our hearts desire the same things in a way of the big picture. Because of that, we learned to compromise during the path that reaches that big picture.

It didn’t take us very long to move into our first place together. People thought we moved too fast and it’s possible we did. However, we loved each other enough to fight through all of the stresses we put on ourselves. Looking back, I enjoy remembering some of those crazy experiences we had apartment searching, living in our first apartment and how that crazy experience was (we did a Storytime about it on our channel if you’re interested), and even that time when we went against everything and everyone and lived in a car just because we wanted to be with each other. The things we’ve been through together is something that no one can take away from us.

He pushes me, he encourages me, he supports me in everything I do. He never lets me give up, even when it feels so easy to. He appreciates me and everything I do. He gets on my nerves, don’t get me wrong. We piss each other off every other day and we are still working at it, but there’s no one else i would want to put this work in for.

His birthday, coincidentally, is three days after this post is to go up. I’ve watched him grow these past couple years. He’s matured in so many ways. He’s matured me in so many ways. We fit. We’ve grown together in a way that makes us each other’s perfect fitting other half. A LOT of people wanted us to break up. No joke, a lot of people. There was a lot of people saying we should choose other paths, but each path we went on lead us right back to each other.

So, my love, if you’re reading this I hope that you know how much I love and appreciate you. I spent a lot of time yelling and scolding, but you know where my heart is. You know how much I love you being in my life. I hope you never forget it. I hope our hearts never wander from one another’s.

A love with loyalty, honesty, and laughter is something that irreplaceable and I’ve been blessed enough to have. We have our arguments, but 95% of my days laughter is shared with this wonderful man that I’m sharing my life with. He’s more than just my boyfriend. He’s my future husband. He’s my business and life partner. He’s my best friend. I have his back no matter what.

If there is someone in your life that you love, tell them you love them. Don’t waste time. Don’t settle because life is short. You never know when someone’s last day is, so they need to know how you feel about them.

Is there someone you want to shoutout on National Boyfriends Day? Leave it in the comments and not just here, but tell them in person. Write about it on your social media. Write a blog post about it and send me the links so I can see.

P.S. this will probably be the one and only mushy and extra post you ever see on this page haha!
