Benefits of a Positive Mindset

Everything I do is very centered around having a positive mindset. Something that people who don’t know me well or haven’t known me long thinks is that I was just born this way. I didn’t always think this way. When I was in high school, I was not that happy, positive kid that tried to encourage others. In fact, I was quite the opposite. When bad things happened, I was pretty quick to think on the negative side of things. I didn’t believe good things could happen to me just because I’m thinking that they will. I remember when someone told me that I should try thinking with a more positive mindset and I told them that I didn’t see the point.

May some point I decided that I didn’t want to live like that anymore. I was tired of just accepting bad vibes so openly. I realized that my negative thoughts and emotions I embraced so heavily weren’t actually helping me in any way and so I figured I should try living my life differently. Making that decision CHANGED MY LIFE. I never planned for it to make such a huge difference, but it did. I discovered that your mindset really does impact what happens in your life. The energy that you put out changes the energy that comes back to you.

Don’t know what I mean? Here are just a few things that I can personally attest to being a Consequence of changing your mindset.

Benefits of a Positive Mindset

  1. Decreases Stress. Positive thinking and affirmations have better response time for decreasing stress when trouble is happening in your life. This mindsetballow youbto reshift your focus so that when things go wrong, you’re thinking about solutions while the negative mindset would be swelling on the problem. It keeps you from living your life without moving forward.

  2. Boosts your health. Have you ever heard the saying “stress can kill”? Have you ever heard “it takes more muscles in your face to frown than to smile”? Well, this is one of the core reasons why being positive is the way to go! Negative thoughts and emotions but a drain on your body. When life happens to me and I let it get me down, I find myself being tired all of the time and just wanting to lay down. I also find that I lose the motivation and energy to do some things that I even love to do. When you are angry all of the time or always thinking negatively, you put a lot of wear and tear on your body. This can cause health problems eventually. I have literally stressed myself sick on many occasion. Why? Because all of that stressing weakens the immune system. On the other hand, positive thinking helps give your immune system and energy a boost. Cool, right?

  3. You’re more likely to be successful. When it comes o accomplishing your goals and dreams, your mindset is pretty vital. How you feel things will turn out in accordance to your dreams is more likely to be the outcome. If youdont think you’re special or good enough to make it, you won’t. If you don’t think anyone will ever notice you, no one will. You have to believe in your talents and work ethic. Those who succeed are those who made the decision that they would. As I mentioned earlier, the energy you put out there, is the energy that you will receive in return.

Those are just SOME benefits I have found. Ever since I started thinking positively about myself and about what the future holds for me, my life has become a blessing. I now have found my passion in uplifting others and I never would have found this if I hadn’t changed my mindset. How I allow myself to view myself and the world around me has affected the way I move. I move with confidence because I already know that whatever I put my mind to will be a success. It’s just a matter of when. If I didn’t have the mindset, I never would’ve started my YouTube channel. I didn’t have any of the right equipment or knowledge to record or anything else, but I decided that I would learn even if it’s hard for me, and I love my channel and it’s slowly but surely growing.

If I never changed my mindset, I never would’ve started this blog. There were a LOT of obstacles that kept getting in my way when I was trying to go self-hosted. If you follow me on Twitter or are subscribed to my blog then you know that I was originally supposed to launch this website on September 10th. It didn’t happen because life got in the way. I was also supposed to launch it a few weeks before then and it didn’t happen. However, instead of dwelling on the fact that my plans weren’t working out, I just started moving forward and making plans to get it together. I was disappointed, YES. I was devastated when I couldn’t launch in September, but I knew that sitting and moping about it wouldn’t get this website up and giving up wasn’t an option. So I chose to think positively and focus on making sure it’s the best website I can possibly have before launching it to you guys. Now we’re here and I feel so grateful for the journey!

Clearly I feel very strongly about this positivity thing, haha. Would you consider yourself a positive or negative person? Did which ever you choose come naturally to you? How would you guys feel about me doing a post on How To Change Your Mindset? Tell me about your mindset journey. Share in the comments below! I love hearing from you guys!
