I hear a lot of people talking about how they would love to work for themselves and have their own business of some kind. I will be the FIRST to say that I absolutely love working for myself. Nothing feels better than not having to answer to nobody. I have issues with authority and so not having a boss works for me (haha, just kidding... kinda).
So I am going to make a list of some businesses you can start on your own with no either very little money or none at all!
My blog is basically my business and my FAVORITE source of income because I love writing. You can start one for absolutely free or pay a little money for your own website. I started out with a free wordpress site and got my first paid gig without much trouble. But before I did this, I used to get paid to write on someone else's blog. I got paid per blog post but worked at my own pace and in my own time and I loved it.
If you are social media savvy or have marketing experience/background you can do what I do and become a social media manager. Freelancing this way can allow you to work in the hours that you want to. But don't do it unless you like social media or you WILL burn out quickly.
Life and career coaching is lucrative and helps people. It is definitely a field that is greatly needed.
You don't need any expertise to do something like this. All you have to do is miscellaneous tasks that other people don't have time to do. It's like being a regular assistant only you don't have to get anyone coffee.
If you love the kids...this is a good business to start for yourself. Although you technically have a boss... I would consider them more like clients.
Same thing as with kids... only with doggies!
I have no experience with this, but I know it's easy enough to sell items on etsy. You can do it from home and work whenever it is you feel like.
You don't have to have a blog to do affiliate marketing. You can sell products as an affiliate on any old platform.
Just like blogging, YouTube is like a business and it is all about creativity.
People are CONSTANTLY in need of their meals being prepped and I know myself, I HATE doing it. Preparing meals for people could be an AWESOME business if you enjoy being in the kitchen.
Helping people get fit is a great way to be your own boss and do something you enjoy (if you enjoy fitness things).
I have seen people make very good lucrative incomes doing this.
Are you ready to be your own boss? Some of these are service based businesses and some are product based, but ALL allow a certain sense of freedom!
What business are you starting this year?
